Phyllis Coachman

Phyllis is a member of Safe Haven United Church of Christ and has been a Member in Discernment in the Metropolitan Association since 2018. She holds a Doctor of Theology degree from International Theological Seminary of California (2005), Master of Divinity from New York Theological Seminary (1994), and a Master of Social Work from State University of Stony Brook (1975). Phyllis currently serves on Safe Haven’s Executive Council, she is director of their Missions Ministry, and she is the lead minister of their Emerges Buds and Blooms Ministry. “What a blessing it is to be able to take leave of my pastoral responsibilities and confidently, without reservation, place the concerns of the congregation in her able hands….” says her pastor Rev. Dr. Ruby Wilson.

In order to convene a duly constituted Council, all Association churches are urged to designate a representative to participate
